JUST FOR the breed of conversation and curiosity i was wondering what it would take to convert and awd to a fwd? i know that the center diff wouldnt like that since it would on split a certain amount of power...what are your thoughts? has anyone ever done this? peaceee
 
exactly .i said for conversation..i want to know what it would take...im fine with my launch but just out of curiosity you see post everywhere about fwd to awd.....i want to know what it take to make an awd to fwd ok or rwd

I've done a few AWD to FWD conversions, so I think your question is very valid. It's actually not all that difficult. The easiest way to do it is to get a FWD tranny, and it will all bolt right up. Or, you can weld the center diff in the AWD tranny. The thing you will lack by doing that is the nice long, MPH inducing gearing of the FWD tranny. As far as the rear end, you would have to keep that intact because it is imperative for the structural integrity of the rear suspension, but the advantage is the AWD rear suspension is independant vs. the panhard bar on the FWD. It is much better for stability and cornering, so an AWD to FWD converted car can actually be a pretty nice ride. Over the next few months, you'll see more details from me, but that's all I'm saying now.
