818 - 909,
i went to test drive it expecting to hear a growling sound from the new open air filter, but to my surprise instead the hearing an intake growl I hear a loud pshhh and Im still using my OEM 2G BOV... I dont see how people want to vent outside, personally i think its plenty loud recirculating it back into the intake along with an open air filter. Anyway, just a little review of what i thought of my new open air filter :thumb:

Ditch the 2G BOV ASAP!!! Does it make the pssssttt even when you drive? Mine did. Its leaking even if you don't know it, its Mitsubishi's way letting us drivers know they cheaped out. 1G BOV is the only way to go also, unless you go for a blow-through setup, then get a Tial BOV.

Yeah what he SAID!!!

The 1G BOV will be fine by itself, you're not getting enough "extra" just from an air filter. It's also safe to cut the recirc tube, remove the BCS restrictor, and/or replace the intake elephant with a hard intake all without a gauge. However, the next step would need to be a boost gauge, then a boost controller.

Yes it does make the pssst noise under boost, I had a hint that it was leaking whenever its boosting 10psi or more.. does this thing suck that bad that it cant even hold stock boost? :(

i have a boost gauge, its not mounted yet, still need to buy a pod for it...but im seeing peak boost of 13psi, does this sound proper?

what is a BCS restrictor? :(
