My car is currently completely stock except for the tranny fluid which was swapped out. I have been wondering about raising the boost up a bit and seeing how things go, i know first off to purchase a boost gauge and air/fuel (just for the peace of mind). I was wondering though, after those two add-ons, if i would be able to say run 14 psi on a completely stock car? Has anyone ever done this?

I'm also trying to figure out what exaust i want, i have been looking and looking hard at the Buschur Racing Exhaust/Downpipe/O2 housing and it's looking really nice for the price, and i know Buschur knows what they are doing. So does anyone have any answers or comments?

Why would i waste so much money on a 3" Apex N1 when i can pay alot less for a 3" exhaust from a guy who's been racing DSM's with great excellence?

This has been done many times in past! Contrary to popular believe, you CAN increase boost up to (16-17psi) with out ANY OTHER MODS (other than gauge and MBC). You just have to make sure that your car is in good state of tune (good plugs/wires/air filter and fuel filter).

I have seen people run 13.2-13.3 with those two simple modification. But that does take very good driving and nice track conditions.

Adding $500 BR exhaust and $200 fuel pump can bring you into 12.6-12.7 range...

Yeah 17psi on a stock car is good. The thing people don't realize is that we have a MAS and this is a dynamic device that can account for increases in boost by telling the ECU to add more fuel. The stock fuel system is more than up to the task of handling a 14B/T25 at 17psi. I think the people that disagree with this are using an O2 voltage meter to confirm that they are right. Current thinking tells us that O2 voltage is worthless.

I wish I had a stock car so I could prove that all these things are true and disprove various myths about what can and can't be done.

you dont NEED an air/fuel meter. they are a light show and get annoying.

People pay more for the n1 because it is quiter and they like the way it looks. The buschur will get you far but is louder. It's just what you prefer.

Well alrighty then. Thanks for all the help guys. Batman, i'll do 16 psi with mine @ stock and see what happens just to add to ur list of proof for all the people who think it's impossible. On a 2g i don't think it's a good idea, but, that's my own personal opinion. I've seen a friends car running stock at about 15 psi blow his head gasket.

Any MBC suggestions? Should I just make my own? Would backpressure be a problem?
