2g a/t GSX to 2.4 A/T ....

ok i have asked before but i never got a sure answer. i have a 96 gsx wid a auto tranny and want to drop a 2.4 6 bolt in .. i was told it is not as easy as 1.. 2... 3.... just cause it is a auto.. my stock engine is F'ed bottom and top end.. (fuggin ebay pos) anywho any help would be great cause i would rather have the 2.4 then jsut paying out my ass for a rebuild

as far as i know,the auto swap is no more difficult than the manual swap. the engine bolts right up to both trannies.

A 6-bolt 2.0 does NOT just "bolt right up" to a 2G A/T. Don't know about the 2.4-- try the DSM A/T list.

The TC for the AT leaves too much of a gap when mating to the 6bolt engine. A spacer is needed or else you will fry your AT fluid pump. As Doug said, at.dsm.org is where you will find A TON of information.

what about a 7bolt 2.4--auto doesnt have any side load,crankwalk shouldnt be an issue and it should bolt up without any problems,
