Ok , I hear all this good stuff about the GM 3+ inch mafs and the MAFT, and I want to buy one but...
1-How is a 3 inch hot wire maf better than my stock 2" by 4"oval sensor?
2-A hot wire type has to calculate airflow by measuring temp drop on a wire(which takes time) and then the MAFT has to count pulses from the GM maf then output reduced range pulses(takes more time), which seems to me by the time the ECU gets the reading its already incorrect. So what I got is.. the ecu reads the indirectly calculated frequency from the MAFT which indirectly calculates the airflow via the indirectly calculated frequency from the hot wire maf.
Maybe its just the Captain Mo or me thinking too much(like usual).Any flow testing on the two maf's or dyno tests between the two?

They work man. You are WAY overthinking about this. I not only picked up a ton of power, the car is much more driveable now, even with 780cc injectors I ahve.(I had 625s with the stock mas) I dont have before and after dyno #s(doesnt matter anyway. I ahve changed too many things for a direct comparison) I did, however have several people drive the car after the MAFT went in. Dave (rdrkt) and Wes Hess were among them. Everyone noticed a big difference.
