2G 2.4L Hybrid ?

I am looking a 95 eclipse gsx with a 2.4L hybrid engine. The engine has 5,000 miles on it and the guy says that it has an awd 7 bolt flywheel. I can only assume that this means that the engine is a 2G 7 bolt engine. Please correct me if i am wrong. He says that it came from Magnus Motorsports, i called them and they told me that they did build some 7 bolt 2.4's and they have the same potential problem with crankwalk. I asked the guy with the car if it was a 6 or a 7 bolt and he just said that the good thing about the 2.4L is that it doesnt have any crankwalk issues.

I am not very knowledgable about this and would like some insight from everyone here.

I have talked to Galant 4g64 owners and they say they have never heard of their 7 bolts CW'ing.

I have heard of on guy with the 7 bolt 4g64 CW'ing but he may have not primed the oil correctly.

so I honestly dont think anyone knows for sure if this motor is prone to crank walk.
 
So where exactly do these 2.4 hybrids come from a non-turbo eclipse or a galant, or somewhere else?
 
If anyone tells you the reliability of this motor I think he is smoking something.

I honestly dont think the build up of these motors has been going long enough for someone to comment on its power potential or its reliability.

Mighty Max right? But there are 3 different kinds and only one work with the 4g63 head?

they came in a few early model mitsu's they were in the NT spyders,and they are in the 2000+ 4 cylinder eclipses. i know people have put the 4g63 heads on the 7 bolts '64s in the NT spyders i'm not sure about the 3rd gens.. i bet someone out there has done it.
 
man its like the maft getting out for the first time!!..pretty soon everyone and there brothers will be running 4g64's..
to tell you the truth they are galant motors,head swaps(with the drilling and tapping of a few holes for the dohc head if im not wrong)adjustable cam gears,new pistons and your old 6 bolt rods..oh and a galant timing belt..ill be doing the swap this winter..cant wait for 9:1 comp..:)

yes there is..its called a 50,56,or 60 trim..but then again without some displacement its pretty hard to spool some of these..

actually as far as i know,the only thing you do is have to plug some oil drain holes on the 4g64 block because they don't match up to our head,it bolts on. you can also use the stock 4g63 cam gears but the marks won't line up,if using the stock DOHC 4g64 gears everything lines up perfect.
