650cc injectors w/ EVO III 16g?

i'm getting 650cc injectors from slowboyracing and was wondering if it's too much for evo16g. I hear people complaing 550cc's don't cut it for them and don't get enough fuel. if anyone gots a 2g or evo manifold let me know. i'm in need of one. thanks

I'm in the same position. So would 550's be more than plenty for my EVOIII 16G? I have a 2G. I don't really plan on doing anything really radical.
 
I run the SBR 650's and the SBR Evo 16G, I really like the combination. It just put down 280whp on my car vitually untuned..and on a sidemount

I am sure you will like it also :thumb:
 
I have the same question and have similar mods, but I plan to get a Garret T3/T4 57 trim turbo.
1. 550 or 650 or 660?
2. What's the difference between 650 and 660?
3. Which would be better for 20-22 psi?

i would say go with the 650s if you can afford them.

they are bigger but also more tuneable and the fuel will be there if you need it.
 
550's are plenty with a 255 lph fuel pump and rewire. I only get fuel cut at like 24psi when it's cold and I'm on the highway in 5th gear. Check your fuel filter too though. A dirty filter can slow down the fuel even to larger injectors and don't forget that a S-AFC can only lean the mixture out so far.
 
I have 550's and a walbro 190 rewired on my big 16g and I run out of fuel on top. I say go with the 650's the first time because you will eventually get a bigger turbo anyway and you will be all set. I know your thinking that this turbo will be enough for you, but trust me everyone wants more. Don't make the same mistake a lot of us have already made.
 
well i've gotten the 650cc for 330 shipped from slowboy. will try it out and do some tuning. would a fully hacked 2g mass help lean it out somemore? cause i have one regular with all the honeycombs and have another from a friend that is fully hacked.

At 20psi on pump gas, I'm at 108% duty cycle with my 550s. At 22psi on race gas, I'm at 95% IDC. The people who have run 10s on 550s just had their injectors on all the time. It is better to have finer control.
 
Im in the same boat i dont think ill be going larger than my evo, still unsure about what
injectors to get the 550cc or 650.
 
I hope the OP gets a 5spd ecu those 660' would be pretty negative on the safc.
 
550's are too small to safely max out the evo III 16g with an SAFC. After correction of +20% it won't be as accurate. EPROM? Because the SAFC won't comfortably handle the 650's. You could probably run evo 580's with an SAFC to get that little bit more fuel. Every car is different. If you do get 550's and end up maxing out your 16g safely, no knock, etc etc. Then more power to you.
 
My reply was directed towards the topic's author. As for you with the GM MAF set up, you are good to go. Find the maximum size of injectors that it will control and I would probably get them to just get it over with. Although I would probably do a little more research because I have read in different places that IDC of 80%-85% is ideal.
 
Now would a 2g maf on a 1g cancel that out? Because the 2g maf and 550's almost cancel eachother out, would that make it possible to run say, 750's, on a 1g with an afc?
 
Yeah, there are some different factors like that but I don't know exactly how much difference a 1g maf is from a 2g. I don't want to spout off incorrect information. I will do a search on here though and hopefully come back with some more information!
