heres the situation: installed a supra smic, install was a bit of a pain in the butt, but when it was in there it felt good. My car is not lowered and will not be lowered so the smic sits a little lower than most people who do this mod, but it still has plenty of clearance.
Anyways, back to the topic. With the supra smic, I also received all the stock supra piping, which is considerable larger than our stock piping. I used a 2.5"-2" reducre on the licp, then I rigged something up for the upper intercooler piping. We cut off the stock dsm pipiing from the smic to right before the bov. We then ran our supra piping up to this point. Here is the problem:
We measured wrong, and the stock uicp at the bov is just a tad smaller than the supra piping. Its JUST enough so that you cant clamp well. We tried various methods of rigging it, but the piping always blows off after a few runs. My latest solution was this: I took some of the stock rubber piping, and got it to BARELY stretch onto the stock uicp(as a sort of big rubber washer). This now made it possible for me to clamp the supra piping to my stock uicp. Will this work well, and since the stock rubber piping has that mesh stuff on it, will this cause problems? I will try to get pictures soon as well. Thanks.
