car not starting

This one is wierd. I had a bad MAS and Iwent with a GM MAS and the translator. I got it all hooked up and went to start it. All it would do is likke when you pull the plug to the coils. It would turn turn turn and never catch.

I took it all apart and then put the bda mas back in (heck, it would atleast run then) no dice. just turn turn turn and no catch to start. It is like there is no spark getting to the motor. I pulled the plug to the coil and it is the same sound. Does that mean the coil is bad or somethng else. She cranks great, but just wont catch.

This is a 95 GST alos.

The Problem Diagnosis Forum likely has your solution. It's is billed as the "Need Some Quick Help? TroubleShoot The Problem Here" Forum.

Based on what your are saying, we (well I) can't tell if you pull a plug WIRE and hold it to the valvecover while cranking does a spark appear? That's your starting point.

If yes, then it may the firing order or timing is off. Good luck.

If no, then I would check things like the coil pack, the transitor pack, and see where those things get you.

I'd probably be more help if I did this sorta thing, but if you search I've never posted in the Problem Dianosis Forum ... and walla, it all makes sense now.

Anyhow, good luck with finding the answer ... just trying to steer you to the right source, and maybe help just a little bit. Forgive me if I've angered you.
