i just bought a cut out for my talon.i have stock dp and a 14b w/ 2.5" test pipe and 3" thermal cat-back. i got a 2.5" cutout and i'm gonna put it where the test pipe is. how much should i expect to gain from this??

Actually u will gain a quite a bit from one!!! i had one in where my cat used to be and the rest was just stock exahaust and holy #### would the car ever move i couldnt keep the fuel to it!! So i got rid of it when i put all my 3 inch exahust on , but they sound ####in awesome when ur doin a burn out!!!

A cut out is a y shaped pipe that you weld into your exhaust so its like running an open dp, or something. It just lets the exhaust out earlier and gives you alot less restriction in the piping.

The experiance i have had with mine is that you gain about 2-3 mph in your trap speed and maybe a tenth of a second if that. I have a test pipe so that migh have something to do with such the small gains that i am seeing. Get an aftermarket dp and you will see gains that are like night and day.

np imo they make your car sounds like ass while just cruising around but at idle and at WOT it sounds badass it just sounds itimidating at idle like a harley or something. PLus my car has the lumpiest idle ever for some reason so it sounds like i have some huge cam and like a stroked chevy bigblock. But the cops don't take too kind of a liking to them so be careful driving around.
