I am doing the 4g63 to 4g63T swap and so I went to a salvage yard and bought an engine from a 90' eclipse turbo fwd, along w/ computer mas, bov ect.... Anyway to the good news, as I was pulling the engine appart I noticed that it had looked as if the engine had overheated. It had a few visable signs of a cooked motor. This was not a big deal seeing as how all that I am interested in is the block. So as I pulled the valve cover off I noticed that the head was new. Thats pretty cool, now I have a spare head. Oh yeah it has new cams too. So originally the only problem with the swap was the computer, because It came out of a 90 and is going in a 93. As we all know these ecu's are a litthe different. No big problem really as I could get the schematics and switch some wires around. Plus the doner car was an automatic and my car is a manual. So as I pulled the computer out I noticed that it had some damage to the mounting brackets, which means it had most likley been replaced. Remember the car is a 90. So I decided to see if the computer was still the same one, so I went to a website that sells ecu's and put in the model # of the ecu that I pulled out of the 90' and sure enough it was for a 93 gsx manual trans :thumb: . That worked out really good. Just makes things a little easier. So the point is you never know what kind of tressure you will find at a junkyard.:dsm:
