Adliya,
Okay I just recieved my order for a complete set of Prothane motor mounts. I thought that all four are complete insert replacement, I didnt realize that the front and rear mounts were just additional inserts.

Anyways, both my back and rear are torn. I can actually remove the center piece out. If i put the insert it will hold it in place but I dont know if it will be enough rubber to stop it from banging.

to my question. I cant get any 2g parts here, so I was wondering if the rear and front motor mounts on the Galant Turbo were the same or not?

You will be fine dude trust me... you could jsut put the sides in and leave the front and rear stock and you would prolly be fine....LOL

I agree. If it is really bothering that much than just buy the full motor mount set for the 2g. Don't buy the inserts. Good luck. :talon: :thumb:

I did buy the whole kit.

I bought this.

the front and rear inserts work in conjunction with the original, and my front original is jacked up.

it okay now, we have stores that sell nothing but non original car parts that they get from the far east (thailand, korea, tawain etc) and I found an insert which is identical, but cheaper material. anyways it wont matter as long as I use the prothanes with it. then it should be fine.

took it to the machine shop to get it pressed out and the new one pressed in. the part costed me $8, you gotta love the far east sometimes.

i have no idea what ur talking about, me and a friend put a set of prothane motor mounts from extreme motorsports in his 2g and they did not use the stock rubber mount in any way, the piece completly replaces the stock rubber thing, i also dont know why u had to take it to a mahing shop, we put all 4 mounts in in the driveway with the trany pulled out
im thinking u either somehow misunderstood how to install them or they ripped u off and sent u the wrong things, because the prothane mounts in my friends 2g are not inserts, they are solid urathane mounts

two of the mounts are complete replacements, while the other two are used with the stock ones. have a look at the picture with the link.

okay about the pressing. I dont know if I should just burn or cut the rubber out of the original mount because I couldnt push it out with my hand. took it to a mechanic and he said they need to be pressed out.

but you dont have to press the new ones in according to the instructions, they should just slip in.

Just use the inserts, or fill the front and rear with window weld, or buy new fronts and rears and then put the inserts in. Which of these you choose is up to you, and depends on the condition of the ones in the car.

Don't leave them the way they are.

Kingdom ill help you since apparantly noone understands what you actually have. You can do a couple things here....

I used an air hammer and wacked out hte mounts. You are correct, in that the new ones will slide right in plain and simple. you can try this way or take em to get pressed out. Or you could even try to set up some kind of press and just you a table vise or something to as they arent that hard to get out.
You should like them, I always loved them once I had em in my Talon. As for the fron tand rear, like I said before you will be fine with the stock crappers in there. just slip the inserts in and jam it in and run the bolt through the dang thing and be done with it. unless however yu feel more comfortable putting the rubber, which you will not ever notice as long as you have the prothane ones in, material back in....
