I want to attend this race and the only qualification is to run a 14.99 1/4 mile or better.
I was wondering with my current mods(k&n,act 2100# clutch, NGK plugs,Free mods) and the addition of 2.5in cat back exhaust, and mbc at 15-16 psi if I will qualify.
I know driving is important, and I am a pretty good driver with a decent launch.
Any help would be much appreciated.
thanks.

Street sleep going to Cedar Falls in Sept?? I am going to try to make it too.

good I was kind of worried, I have never raced at a track before.
with good driving and a 60' of under 2sec what do you think I will run??

You got man! I have a 1g bov, K&N and a cheapy can. I ran a 14.5 and a 14.6 last night! Just launch it right and you'll have it!

ha! I had a 1.2 reaction, 2.1 60ft, 9.6 in the 1/8th, and I still clocked off a 14.9. That was back with the K&N. You'll make it.

Street Sleep,
Depending on the condition of your motor you should easily qualify for 14.99 and under. W/ just a K&N,UIC pipe and about 16-17 psi i ran a 13.7@97 in Rock Falls, WI in my 93 talon awd. So it all depends on the car and the driver. I should also hopefully be @ the shootout pending that this rebuild goes well and dynoing goes well. See you there!!

U can do it!! I ran 14.6@93mph stock boost w/ only k&n, 2.5" test pipe & cat-back; crap .9 react. and 2.1 60'. Some of you have consider it as bad since i not of a great driver.

um, depending if u are a crappy driver like me, u might not make it. but i did pull off 3 consistent 14.99's on some really crappy launches. But if u do get those parts, put some race gas in, gut the cat/get a test pipe, then 13's is easily attainable as i've ran 13.88 at 99.88 with a bad 2.1 60'. So you can do it easily cause no one launches worse than i do.

Even in a full weight 2g with the crappy t25 turbo I ran 14.3 with just exhaust and K&N. With boost controla nd race gas I ran a 13.7. You should have no trouble on a 14b... Good luck :)

TurboSpoolins, how did you go about polishing your valve cover?

nice job! I polished my old one before but aint that great, it cracked and now i got another one and want to polish it the right way.
