I have looked at every FMIC intercooler i can find, even a porsche intercooler my friend is running. i am looking to get into low 11's to high 10's with/out nitrous. I will obvioulsy need something that will flow alot of air.
DSMotorsport 18" wide, 6"tall, 3.5" thick that flows 1080CFM. ( top to bottom flow )
DSMotorsport 24" wide,7.9" tall, 3.5" ( side to side, should this flow more then the other one? )

the car will be street driven and i am getting the fluidyne radiator and electric fans also. Does the top to bottom flow better than side to side? are there any others that i should look at . Indyracecores offers the same side to side as DSMotorsport.

in my expirance side to side has always flowed better then top to bottom, but more importantly then that side to side seems to cool the air better, and on a 1g if u get a top to bottom flow ur just wasting space, u can fit a considerably bigger side to side ic as opposed to a top to bottom flow, space in the front of ur car is very limited top to bottom, side to side on the other hand u have lots of space, not hard to decide where u want ur endtanks to be to get the biggest core u can on there(bigger core means more airflow and more importantly, better cooling)
and yes, the 24 by 7.9 should flow better(and more importantly cool ur intake air better because the surface area of the core is bigger) then the smaller 18 by 6 intercooler
the way i see it top to bottom flow is a flawed design(for a very small ic its ok but for anything big it not any good) that does not maximize the airflow and causes more pressure drop then side to side, i guess slot of people agree with me because there are alot more side to sides being sold and marketed
ever see a top to bottom flow on a 10 second car? neither have i, every fas 1g iv seen runs a side to side
