im getting ready to put my motor together this week and i need some help first...ive already got a new factory metal headgasket that i was planning on using in my built motor, but after reading a couple threads ive heard a lot of praise on the cometic.
ide rather get the right gasket now rather then have problems later...my setup is a crower/ross combo with an o-ringed block, and arp head studs.
ive got a t3/60-1 turbo and im planning on running it to around 25-30psi at the track with race gas (or on the streets racing).
most people seem to have a lot of good luck with the cometic, ide plan on getting their HP version with the fire rings i guess. so anyways, is there anyone that runs high horsepower and boost on the factory metal with no problems? the head will be resurfaced and the block is fine so it should be a good sealing surface.
and also why im on the topic..is there any reccomendations or tips on preperation for the headgasket install to get the best seal?
TIA
