I'm getting some money soon and I was just on the Jun website. What do you guys think of or know anyone who has a Jun built engine? I'm considering buying a 6 bolt and sending off to them to have a full stage 2 top and bottom end done. This includes the entire valvetrain and a 2.2 stroker kit. I know this isn't the biggest stroker kit and may not be the most cost effective way of making power but their engines usually make sick power on other applications. Let me know what you guys think.:thumb: http://junauto.co.jp/

Hey, if you've got the cash and really want to do it, go for it. Make sure you dyno it, take a hell of a lot of pictures of their result work, etc, etc. I've always been interested in their equipment, but unfortunately, I don't have the cash right now to spend that kind of money on a street car.

Their stuff is very high quality, but very, very pricy. Cosworth makes their pistons, and I must admit that I have a personal preference for Cosworth, at least for N/A tractor motors.

Their is a guy here who is kinda wealthy, too wealthy if you ask me.

Anyways, he is probably a good if not the best costumer to JUN, He has a Fully built R34 here the same white one they used personally as a test bed vehicle when the R34 was first released. Makes 800+whp and it has every trick JUN has in their book. costed him near $200k thats including the car, shipping, sound system, new paint job, Aero kit and them flying here and tunning the car to perfection.
I have seen the car and it is built amazingly, i mean every thing has been done in great detail its just unbelievable. The guy has had the car for over 2 years and drives it once or twice a month, hasnt had a single problem.

He was so satisfied with their service he sent and EVO 4 and a TOMI Edition EVO 6.5 and has gotten them back a couple of weeks back. I hear Both make 550whp and I have yet to see them. I will try to get pics of them.

what I am trying to say is that their work is perfect but it is pricey. Too pricey honestly. Might as well send it to polk or SBR and get a stroker motor for less than half the price, no need to send to japan.

Only reason you might want to send it, is if you are loaded and want to say that you have a 2.2 JUN stroker to the ricers. Thats probably the only benefit :p

For what it matters, I honestly don't think that their rods/pistons/components are that expensive. I've seen pistons/rods cost more for various SCCA cars. DSM'ers are a notoriously cheap-ass bunch... Or are we just lucky that we have components produced domestically? Every American piston/rod maker I've heard varying reports...

I think the demand and the competition makes the prices the way they are in the states which is good. the japanese, what they are paying for the parts and labout their is probably normal to them. Their salaries are very high but it balances to their high prices so it becomes normal. But I think its an advantage, travelling probably becomes much cheaper to them since their currency can get them much more somewhere else. I hope I am making sense.

I haven't really found out what that set up would cost still because JUN doesn't offer a price list on their web site. Anyone with an idea of the cost for a stage 2 top and bottom?
