I am rebuilding my 6bolt and was wondering how beneficial it is to get the ARP rod bolts or should I just stick with the stock ones?

What is involved in using ARP's rod bolts and main studs? I am having everything align honed as we speak(mains and rods). I believe align honing the mains and rods are a requirement before you go with the ARP's rod and main bolts. If I remember correctly, you also need some dowels....right?
