Hey guys, I was playing with my boost controller today and I got it up to 17psi when it hit fuel cut. I was wondering if I could just get a stock supra fuel pump to get rid of the problem. Also, what else would I need to run 20psi with my stock turbo? Thanks.
By the way, I own a 1990 GSX.

the pump is the first step in stopping fuel cut..after the pump you will need an S-afc so you can tune your car, the S-afc is necassary..than you can turn your boost controller to 20 psi and not worry about fuel cut

You need an AFC to trick the ECU into seeing less airflow so you can eliminate fuel cut. A fuel pump isn't going to help that.

Anyone ever play around with a small bypass of the MAF? Couldn't you just sneek a few percent of the total air volume around the sensor to eliminate or delay fuel cut?

on a 14b to run 20 psi you should have a 255 walbro, 660cc injectors, s-afc for the tuning...and you should have a good flowing exhaust(3-inch turbo back) and also uicp..that should do you could go slightly more or less i guess but thats prolly what id have

Some people should not be allowed to post advice.

Fuel cut happens when the ECU sees a total airflow greater than a preset value. When this happens, it assumes something is wrong, and cuts fuel temporarily to let you know something might get banjaxed.

In order to avoid fuel cut, you have to reduce the amount of airflow that the ECU sees, in order to keep it below the preprogrammed limit. You can do this by hacking the MAF (mildly, if you do it too much you will need fuel control) or by using some sort of fuel computer along with larger injectors.

Is your MAF hacked at all? If not, you should remove the lower honeycomb and possibly back the screw out. I would not suggest any more than that, for fear of running too lean.

You will need a fuel pump if you are going to run larger injectors. However, a fuel pump alone will do nothing to prevent fuel cut.

If you want to run 20 psi on a 14b, on pump gas, don't. I would run a max of 18 or so psi on the 14b, on pump. That would require 550's and a fuel computer, and a fuel pump.

If you want to run 20 psi on race gas, go for it. I personally believe in getting a fuel pump for even this just to be safe, but at least rewire the fuel pump.

How do you like them apples?

yea definately upgrade the turbo, or at least port and clip it. Overboosting will destroy the stock 14b, i blew my stock t-25 at 16 psi, so you'll prolly blow your 14b at 20...But basically kyle said it. To avoid fuel cut u need bigger injectors and pump to supply the fuel..then a Piggy back ecu to let your ecu know u got the power now to supply the fuel.

I got a clipped and ported 19C Frank turbo, and I hit fuel cut at 8 psi....I got injectors and my Super afc II on the way, after a good tune I should then hopefully be rid of fuel cut up until like maybe 20 psi. But any properly tuned car wont fuel cut...
