I currently have a 96GSX with the following 'go fast' mods:
-Free mods
-Upper IC pipe
-HKS SSQ BOV
-Evo3 02 housing
-RRE 2.5 - 3.0" DP
-3" hi-flo Cat
-Apexi N1 catback
I'm finally financially ready for the turbo upgrade and all supporting mods. I plan on getting DSMLink as I already bought my 95 Eprom and Laptop, I will get whichever injectors support the turbo the best, and I will also get a Whinebro 190lph pump rewired (approx 230lph at 14v or so).
Now, I've been going on for weeks now, busting brain arteries trying to decide between a 16G and a 20G. I like fast spool which makes me lean 16G, but I like how a 20G will pull much harder up top. If I get a 16G it will be a big16 ported / clipped 10deg. But for the 20G, I don't know which would suit me best. My goals are 12 sec 1/4mi passes on 93-94 octane on 20psi or less...as it will be my daily driver. Which one will best suit my needs?
TD06 compressor housing with...
-TD05 turbine wheel, with 7cm exhaust housing, clipped
or
-TD05 turbine wheel, with 8cm exhaust housing, non clipped
or
-TD06 turbine wheel, with 7cm exhaust housing, clipped
or
-TD06 turbine wheel, with 8cm exhaust housing, non clipped
The S20G is out of the question entirely. I want the least amount of lag possible in a turbo that will get me into the 12's on daily driver levels.
And yes I will have a FMIC, and upgrade my exhaust to a Hahn 02 Eliminator with an HKS External Gate if I end up with any form of the 20G.
I spoke to Tim at Buschur, and he said that I should get the TD05/7cm for what I want. But I just feel like, If I'm getting a 20G, why even bother with a TD05, but I guess he knows what he's talking about. I just wanted to get some more opinions.
