Only 7lbs of boost!!??

Tonight I hooked up a bleeder valve, have used the same one on a WRX to control boost....

I couldn't get any boost adjustment. I even disconnected the wastegate hose completely, still 7lbs. Any ideas? I'm going to try and borrow a friends Turbo XS controller to see if that fixes it.

What else could it be? Any other leaks or something? 7lbs no matter what. The car feels fine other than that.

If you disconnected your wastegate line to the turbo, and still only got 7 pounds of boost there is something wrong with your wastegate/turbo.

Either the flapper is not sealing properly (possible, but wouldn't really cause this problem) or your turbo is shot.

-Is it the original turbo? if yes, most likely the casting by the wastegate flap is worn out causing a major leak, that's why the boost won't goes up.

FIXED IT

The BOV was plugged into rubber intake elbow...there's no pressure there!

Now it hits 10psi like a champ. Next step, hooking up some kind of boost controller so i can get to 15psi...

Thats interesting. So there must have been a 3 psi vacuum on that line to give you 7 psi bost... heh.

10psi like a champ? it sounds like you think this is somthing to be happy about. Bleader valves are a joke on dsms, go to True Value and make your own MBC costs like $8.00.
let me guess this is by the stock "boost" gauge to hu?
