need a motor

what do people think of their jdm engines,
my stocker is gettin a lil lazy, smoking a bit too, due to valve seals i'm sure, it also has 128k on it.
what would be the best bang for my buck, i found a site that would sell a rebuilt long block for 650, i also found a place that would sell a cyclone motor with a choice ( sounds a lil fishy) of a 14b or a 16g.........
guys know a better route

hey dude, i'm going through what you are as well... i dont know if my info can help though, i'm up in canada... but apperantly the jdm's here are half as expensive as in U.S. about the choice between 14b and 16 g, not really a fishy thing to be dealing with, most of the places you have a choice (unfortunatly none of the places i've looked at) but it should be easy to tell the differance, owning a stock engine and all... pm me if you need some info

How about do compression check. If the valve seals are leaking then umm how about have the head rebuilt.

$650 for a rebuilt longblock is a deal. It would have zero miles on it and you wouldn't have to guess how it's been treated for the past 40k miles. Sounds like a no-brainer.

In fact, I'd like to know what place it is that has them for $650.

it was one of the places from vfaq that sells jdm motors, they dont have the jdm motors but.... the do have the long blocks
