I have 1st generation laser bov will it work on my 2nd gen 1997 Talon FWD turbo? The vacuum line on the 1st gen laser bov comes out of the top at a different angle than a 1st gen. eclipse bov. Other than that they are identical.

Thanks

Yes it will work and is better but you will have to make or buy a new pipe to make it fit.

-If you or someone can weld, you can buy a 1G BOV flang and weld it yourself, you can "crush" the 1G BOV for it to hold more boost. mine @ 19lbs.

I would advise against crushing the bov... only one in ten done actually doesn't leak when the crushing is over with.

But, yes... the 1g BOV will work, check out RRE for a flange (comes with a little 1" peice of pipe on it already, which makes it easy to set up).
Otherwise I would suggest a Dave Brode Pipe.

Only reason I ever got rid of mine, is because I had custom piping made for my FMIC (short piping kit... 2 peices, one from turbo to fmic, from fmic to TB).

well you can take a 2" PVC cap with a 2"-2" coupler drill a hole and JB weld a air hose fitting what ever size you have(3/8") then pump the system up until your boost gauge (after market) reads what ever boost you are running/ want to, it took 40psi(air compressor) and 1 min. to get my system to 20psi, and look for leaks, fix as needed.

-I must be one of the lucky few, my crushed BOV still holding up after 170k miles.

The BOV has to be crushed to the proper vacuum level. Otherwise its a crapshoot. Most poeple have good luck with crushing to 18 in/hg. 19-20 will start fluttering. You can also do the Gus/Dejon mod to the fast release port.
