t-28 or 14b ???

Keep the T-28. It flows more than the 14b and doesn't require a conversion kit.

Matt.

I would suggest you do some reading.

You cannot put the T-28, 14b, and T4 in the same question. They are each VERY different from the other two.

....Kyle T.

my memory serves me right you can keep your T-25 and just use the exhaust housing off of my 14b and that will make more power. The T-25 spools quicker than the 14b turbo the exhaust housing on the 14B is better. Not to mention a ported one is this true?

The T-25 and the T-28 are not the same turbo. The difference between them is night and day. The T-25 is crap. The T-28 is almost equivalent to a 16G, depending on which flavor you are taking about. The housings are not swappable, and should not be compared. The 14b is more efficent than the T-25. The T-28 is more efficent than the 14b. That's it.

Matt.

And the T4 should never be put on a 2.0L cause you wont spool the thing until like 6500rpms...that is if your talking about the 56trim T4...there are varients of the T4 that are smaller and you could use...again T4...is like T3/T4 different trims and sizes and turbine housings and stuff like that ...it depends.

Personally I like the 16g better than the t28...(I know you didn't ask this) I think the top end power is just better.

ok saying howabout a t4, is like saying guys im gonna buy a turbo, will it spool fast and what kinda power am i going to make........t4 means nothing by itself

buy a t28

Also what 28 series turbo are you referring to? There is a difference between the old style T-28 which is rated @ 320 crank hp as comared to the latest FP Big28 which is rated @ 360 crank hp. Example: There is a guy that goes by Hor over at DSMTALK.com that ran a 12.4 @ 109 in a 2g awd with just the FP Big28, DSMlink, supra side mount and basic mods. He wasn't even running any cams. If your talking Big28 then definitely, if your talking old style T-28 still definitely. They both smoke the 14b. The old style T-28 flows 510cfm's. It is more comparable to a 16g, where as the FP Big28 is more comparable to the Big 16g.

ok if people are telling you that the 14b is bigger, then you must have the stock turbo in which case its a t25.........not a t28

the stock turbo on a 2g is a t25, the 14b is bigger and better then that in almost every aspect, but a t28(whih is an upgraded turbo, not stock) is better then a 14b, and if u do swap out to a 14b it will feel like a completly different car, a stock t25 can build nearly full boost at 2500 rpm, i cant even get 10 psi till 3000 with my 14b, iv been riding around with my friend in his 2g to put break in miles on his clutch and it never fails to amaze me how he can build boost and make a loud blow off sound by flooring it and letting off at 3000, its a trade off, by switching to a mitsu turbo u give up quick spoil and low end torque for top and power
if u do have a t28 keep that, if u have a stock t25 turbo get a t28, if u really want a mitu turbo get a 20g and save urself the trouble of buying it after u find out a 14b isnt making the added power u wanted
as for a t4, there are so many different versions of it that asking about it is meaningless unless u are specific about what trim and model u want

let me know which one you would choose outta the t28 and 14b

*outta* is not a word, and you just said you have a t-28 on the car now, what are you talking about?

IMO the t28 is a better turbo for AWD cars cause of FWD traction problems. ive heard of few people encountering this. but yea if u have a t28 your fine, but if not i would go for a ported 14b or a big16g depending on how much dinero u got

i wouldnt say that they should never be put on a 2.0L, 98turbbo420a and myself use a TO4E on our 2.0L and he swears by the thing and i happen to like it myself, and if you are looking to but a TO4E i have three f/s... and a 4g63T exhaust manifold that i can mod the flang to adapt the TO4E..... but again day, and night....:thumb:
