When I owned a MKIII Supra Turbo, I wrapped the exhaste side of the turbo and the downpipe with header wrap and it greatly reduced the under hood temp. Have anyone tried something like this on a DSM to reduce the heatsoak of the IC and the pipes?

i wrap my manifold to try it out and it does reduce the under hood temp a lot.

I vented hood would help a lot.

i don't want to srap the SS pipings.

Did wrapping do anything to shorten the life of the manifold? The more heat (energy) you get to the turbine, the more it has that it can use.

I don't think the intake air spends enough time in the piping to have much transfer, compared to the amount of heating the compressor does on it. Check into water injection for the intake side.

I personally didn't wrap the manifold (kept the heat shield) but I didn't notice any damage on the turbo or the aftermarket downpipe. I didn't get the rush of heat wave from the engine bay after the wrap job and the car seemed like it pulled harder as well. I'm planning on doing the same thing to my Laser plus jet coated header and see it makes a difference like it did on the Supra.
