i took my car out for a little test drive tonight while all is quiet. i've developed this clicking sound when the clutch is pressed in (depressed). the only other time i've heard this noise was when the engine was rebuilt and it clicked for about a week and then went away. now i have almost 10k on the engine. the clutch doesn't stay on the floor on left hand turns.
i do have some weird idling problems and the car does go dead after first gear boosts if i don't shift and just push in the clutch, but those problems only started 3 days ago when i started venting to atmosphere (i'm switching back to venting to intake soon), and my tranny is shot anyway, no synchro in 2nd gear, grinds quite terribly.
it only does it when i first start up the car after it's had a while to cool down. when sitting still with the temp below 190-200 degree's the clicking is quite noticable. but once the engine reaches normal operating temp the clicking goes away, this is all with the clutch depressed.
when i was on my little drive just cruising in third at 45 mph i could hear a very very faint ticking, but then after just 3 or 4 min of driving after reaching normal engine temp that went away too.
is this just my throw-out bearing going bad?
