Would a 91 or 92 Supra intercooler be a good upgrade for my 92 Tsi AWD? I saw one today while i was looking at a local junkyard. I could get it at a good price just wanna know if its worth it. Anybody with input?

Thanks
Dustin

u mean the sidemount intercooler. yeah if u get a good price on it nad ur gonna need new piping i think to. but from what i here they make a really big difference and really good "bang for the buck".

well i dont think it is a side mount because it is sitting in front of the radiator....still a good upgrade?

Actually, the 87-92 Supra FMIC flows quite well. We have had numerous people push over 500 hp on them. I've been tuning MKIII Supras for quitesome time(longer than DSM's, but no much). I would say go for it.

they arent really big, if your going to do that you might as well buy a starion fmic

You are kidding, right. Unless you put new endtanks on a Starquest IC, they are worthless. The Supra IC is a fine upgrade, and performs well for the price.

The MKIV Supra sidemount flows about 495 cfm so it's a perfect upgrade for people who have a 16G/T28 and don't plan on going higher than that with their car mods. My only beef with it is the fabrication that goes along with installing it. Pounding the frame along with fitting the UICP around the air filters is quite a pain. If you got it to work, more power to you. :thumb:

I had a bit of A$$ pain doing it bit it wasn't that bad compaired to putting a whole new motor in the car.

I had a MK3 Supra Turbo in the past and I'd say you'd be better off with going with a MK4 Supra TT IC instead.

what if i already have a MKIII Turbo Supra which I am parting out, would it be worth using the FMIC then?

Probably any front-mount is worth it over the stock sidemount. How much it's worth is debateable. A MKIV Supra sidemount is incredibly good for the price, so I can't see bothering with anything less than that unless you are using said intercooler mainly just to get the piping installed for a different front-mount later.
