My car has 106,000 miles and is a 96 gsx. Ive had it for a few months now. Just tonight i was racing doin about 85 mph. I was in 4th gear at like 4000 rpms, i was boosting, not sure what psi, and all of a sudden i hit a brick wall. I thought it was fuel cut but then i slowed down to see. So I started to hit boost in 2nd gear and 3rd, and i couldnt get above 3-5 psi before i would hit the wall again. It felt and sounded like the turbo just broke, I know thats vague but thats what my intuition tells me. Well thanks for the help, and I can answer any other questions or give more info if needed. ~Matt

Did you leak anything?Any smoke?Did you get ANY boost?Did the car run funny or miss?Check your IC hoses.....i just blew my turbo a few days ago and i got a HUGE cloud of smoke....14b is different though, are you driving the car now?

I checked my intercooler hoses. I couldn't find any hoses that blew off. I have to go to work today so hopefully the car is safe to drive and Im not gonna hurt anything else. Will driving a car with a blown turbo hurt the engine at all? Thanks alot, Matt

I would guess it would depend on what happened to the turbo,if the turbines won't turn it blocks air flow which would make your car run bad but i don't belive it would be harmful,on the other hand if you have blades from the turbine sitting in your exhaust that could be dangerous, pull off your turbo and look at the turbine housing, check for shaft play broken fins or anything that would cause your turbo to not work and go form there,as far as driving you car i would wait to see waht the problem is before you make it worse,i don't have my DSM right now either because i am waiting for another turbo, try that and keep us posted, good luck:thumb:

It really just sounds like one of your IC hoses came loose just enough to cause a leak. This happened to my car the day I installed my Greddy IC pipes, and revved it and heard a loud hiss noise before the car stalled out. I thought I had blown the turbo cause it wouldn't boost at all! But after my friend and I inspected the couplings, we found that one had come disconnected. This also happened one time when my intake pipe disconnected.

Check those hoses man. Your problem might not be that bad.

*nod* Ditto, sounds like a pretty major boost leak. That's the same behavior I was having when my @#&*ing upper pipe kept blowing off. (I'd tighten it, hit about 12 PSI, and BAM! Pull over on a side street, repeat.) Grr.
