A couple of questions

I have a 90 talon tsi awd and i had some questions on different subjects.

1) i was told by a friend of mine here that i could take my bov off and cap the hole left in the intake. the end result, a louder blow off valve, the downside however, is that my turbo will spool slower, is what he said. does anyone know just about how much slower? id like the louder bov, good for warding off confused hondas, heh, but dont want to sacrifice too much. any input?

2) i know that a boost gauge is a must, but does anyone know where i could get a pod for it? ive looked in a few different places but no luck so far. if anyone has any alternatives as how to place gauges in the talons that are more interesting than a pod, id love to hear.

3) last...and least, i was considering getting a dejon tool intake, does anyone have any comments on those? id like to get others opinions before i buy it.

1) Not a great idea, read up on "Venting BOV to atmosphere" in the DSM Tuners newbie FAQ or 1000 Questions at DSM.org.

2) You can normally find cheap used single pods on the DSM trader or EBAY. New ones can be bought at just about every tuner shop, Road RAce Engineering, Extreme Motorsports, Buschur Racing, MACH V..basically everywhere.

3) Dejon makes very nice stuff, I don't think I have ever read anything negative about thier products or service.

Make sure you study up on 1G upgrade paths. Info can be found here at DSM Tuners, DSM.org, or many of the various DSM tuner shop websites.

1. agreed. not a good idea

2. actually i am selling a single gauge pod right now for a 1g, pm me for details. or email me

3. i had a dejon pipe on my car at one point in time, it was a quality piece...but didn't see much gains out of it. i would say before you buy one, get the full exhaust, a mbc, boost gauge, and an upgraded fuel pump.
