I just got my car back from the shop with new pistons, arp studs, mitsu metal headgasket, and i gota big 16g and greddy type s BOV. ive been going easy on the car, only pushing 10-12 lbs, and shifting at 4000-4500, and havent punched full throttle yet. its acting really weird though, like if i go out and drive it for a while (a while being 45 mins to an hour or more), and come back to turn it on, it wont turn on right unless its been sitting for hours. itll turn over, go to about 1000 rpm, choke and die. then when i try and rev, itll rev up to 4 or wherever i go, then choke and die after that, but if i keep on givin it a little gas, itll still just die. it wont get any response from the throttle when it does this, and it doesnt seem like the turbo is reacting either. i checked my oil, its fine, checked my coolant, its nice and green, with no oil/shit in it...keep in mind ive only put on like 600 miles since ive gotten it, and, my oil pressure is fine, and it doesnt overheat, the temp gauge stays in the middle...someone told me maybe to mess with the idle control screw (it currently idles around 700rpm, with occasional flutters up to 1000-1100 i suppose)...however everything works fine, like when i get up in the morning and turn it on...im fukn confused man...

turn that screw till it idles 1000 rpm

thats what happened to my car. the screw was turned down and once my rpm got down to about 8-700 its just dies and never starts.

I had a similar problem. Are you running enough fuel? That would have to do with your car cutting out when you hit the gas. Are you sure your ISC is picking up with the throttle closed? I have my idle screw all the way in, and throttle plate fully closed and still manage only a 1000 rpm idle. Any lower and the ISC almost doesnt pick up for closed throttle.

Make sure your hot start solenoid is working right, you might have a vaporlock problem. :dsm:

I agree, this sounds like a fuel problem.
