rev limiter....

ok a friend of mine has a 1990 eagle talon with a fresh engine rebuild and when the car get to around 1700-2000 rpm's it hits something that seems as if it a rev limiter and wont let the car rev any higher any suggestions on what this might be or what will fix it....he has alot of mods and a safc...any help would be great thx

how much boost? what turbo? what fuel pump? what injectors? what fuel pressure?... it SOUNDS like fuel cut... but that is an AWFUL LOW RPM to hit fuel cut...

he didn't say it felt like they dropped the tranny, so i don't think it couldeven remotely be fuel cut. check out the stuff that spyder says, i'd also check out the ignition system, any one part failing is bad news. perhaps the fuel filter? get the ecu checked out, if it feels like the rev limiter, maybe it's been goofed up good luck

is that in gear, while driving, or in neutral? or all three? i blew my stock UICP off at 2500rpm and my car won't rev anymore
