twin scroll turbo

is there any advantage to a twin scroll turbo like the one's featured in lancer evolutions??

The biggest advantage is less lag time.
Basically the new Lancer has a 16G turbo on it with practically NO lag. Having driven my friends, I can attest to the strength of this turbo (Esp for OEM parts). The twin scroll design basically has two exhaust mani's and two exhaust sides to the turbo.
The only bummer part about this is that there arent many upgrades for it yet. My friend said that there is a 25G out there that is the only upgrade as of now. I dont know anything about it but thats what he told me, its supposed to be a wicked turbo, i am going to look into it!

from what year did evo start having twin scroll turbo?

I'm sure from 5 on up to current has the twin scroll. I'm not sure but i think it started with the 4.
