The 1G valve holds up to like 23 psi uncrushed. When you crush it it holds up to like 30 I think. To put it on a 2G you will need a flange at least, but it's better to just replace the whole UICP. Try Dejon Tool, or for a really nice piece for cheap email Dave Brode at [email protected]
 
I dont kniow about 30psi I would say 25 or so when crushed. You need a flange for it which can be bought for 15-25 beans on ebay or you can replace the uicp to get more gains. As for just plain adding the bov gains...I felt more from adding it without my mbc and I felt alot more power than my exhaust(which was a awsome gain in of itself) and I went from 9psi to about 13psi. So its definatly worth it but if your going over 20 either crush it(it still is an oem part and isnt the best way to do it) or go aftermarket. Anything over 25psi definatly go aftermarket because the 1g bov is great but beswt works at 16psi and lower, and I hear it leaks after 17-18psi.
 
yes it has a nice whistle to it..but not so much a pshhht as aftermarket. I was kinda mad so I put the hacked whistle(dump tube) back on a nd OMG what a nice sound and great boost holding. But if you do the dump tube hack and just install the 1g bov it will be louder and much better sounding than the stocker. If you put that whistle back in it should sound nice.
 
I have used several valves. I am finally able to use the Tial BOV(God of all BOVs, bar none) I am now convinced that the 1G valve is the best, next to the Tial. It hold usually about 18psi-20psi stock. And abotu 24psi crushed. I dont really like to crush them. If you do the high boost mod, it will hold between 25-30psi. http://www.thedodgegarage.com/turbo_bov_mod.html When this is done correctly, I think it is the absolute best CBV on the planet. So once again, Tial to those that can vent to the atmosphere, 1G to those that have to recirculate.
 
im running a 1g bov on my 2g talon. i got the buscher uip, first mod i did and felt a big difference. hits 16psi no porb and finally ended my t25. the bov holds 16 with no prob, but higher boost it cant hold. ive run 18psi at the track (after my turbo upgrade) and it peaks then drops to 16psi. still good bov for a cheap price.:talon: :thumb: :talon:

Thats why I gave the above link. If you do this, it will hold all the boost you will ever need.:cool:

i did the bov mod on that site. two quick questions. i leave the port on the base (not the bottom) vented to atmosphere to hold the boost right? and also when it releases it sort of whistles now, where as it didnt before. thanks in advance for any info.
 
Yes, the new port that you made should be open for high boost mode. If you want the stock response of the valve, just hook up a pressure source(pressure only). But, from my expierience, the valve still reacts very quickly even with the high boost mod done. The whistle sound is your NEW VALVE. Thats what they all have after the mod. RDRKT calls it the ANGRY PIGEON mod. because it kinda goes "PSSSHHT-COOOO" I like how it sounds.
 
i turned it back to stock as i seemed to be getting some off the throttle bucking. any ideas on that? i checked for leaks but came up with nothing. maybe it was in my head. who knows. cool thing is i can put it back in 2 minutes whenever i want. maybe ill just do that at the track. cheers all.
