turbo upgrade question

with my mods shown, if i were to get a big 16g w/ upgraded upper and lower ic piping to the stock ic, whats the most psi i can run at until i can afford a FMIC?

Not sure how much air the stock ic can flow, but yeah that should be ok, maybe a little more too.

I didn't see an upgraded fuel pump in your mods. I would do that along with the B16G. Buddy of mine ran 21psi on his stock side mount and 14b (1g car) on 110. Aren't 2g cars sidemounts better? With the pump i would say you could run a tad over 20 on race gas, and around 18-19 on 93. w/o the pump i wouldn't go over 16 with a B16G, you'd be just asking for trouble. You don't want trouble do you?!

The stock IC shouldn't be run past 19psi unless you have race gas. Then maybe 21psi for short periods of time. I'd stick to about 16psi until you upgrade your fuel system.

gonna steal this post right quick.we have a place that sells race gas 104 oct i think,but i have never tried it,i always use pump gas 91 octane and then use octane booster(13 points it says)would this be the same as racing gas?Would/Should i notice the difference in 91 oct compared to 104+ on my 14b@15psi?One more thing i hit about 18 psi last night with the 91 octane+octance booster,hitting higher psi on higher octane gas..is this normal,Thanks

octane booster is absolutely worthless. run the race gas and crank your boost and youll see a HUGE difference. why run 104 or 110? run the good stuff. 114-118 leaded.

Each point is equal to 0.1 octane, so a 13 point octane booster would boost 91 to 92.3 if mixed in their recommended ratio. If you want to increase your octane, there are a few places that sell 100 unleaded(or higher) at the pump. Some 76 stations do, you can even find the local ones that do on their website. Its $4-$5 a gallon, but will get you higher octane, without the lead which messes up cats and O2 sensors. And no, it isnt normal to hit higer boost on higher octane gas. You might hit higher boost when its cooler, and the air is denser like at night, I'd bet thats what you saw.
