Looking for some opinions on this. I'm planning on going with a 14b for a little bit, and will of course need some install parts. I want to go with a 20g down the line, so I'm thinking about buying an "official" install kit from a vendor instead of making my own. Would this be the best decision? I don't want to risk anything later by skimping now...plus, I like input.

For those who have the question -- why not just save up for a 16g/T28/etc a little longer? Well, I know I won't be happy with anything smaller than a 20g, so I figure I'll fork out less money on the 14b (this one was rebuilt 3000mi ago) and sell my T25. This gives me a little more turbo now, plus it will respond better to the staged upgrades I make in preparation for a 20g (injectors, FMIC, suspension mods, etc.). Just thought I'd answer this up front for any who have the question or are interested -- I've read through too many threads where this ? came up.

Any install kit will work, if you piece it together it will be cheaper. The only this that is going to be different in the lower IC pipe. Other than that just get a braided line for you oil feed, and file down the return. Thats all you need.

sorry I didn't clarify anything. The lower IC pipe will be different between the 14b and 20g, due to the different compressor housings. There is always the option of getting the 90 degree elbow on so you dont need a new LICP, but then again theres always the option on stuffing the 20g wheel in the td05 comp housing, so you won't have to change the LICP when you upgrade later.

Thanks for the reply and clarification on the reply. :D

I know that I can piece one together for lots less, but in this (long-term) case would I benefit more from purchasing a comprehensive kit with all new parts, gaskets, etc. from a vendor? I'd rather piece one together for cost sake, but don't want to risk anything down the road. I know what I'd do if I only needed these parts for a short while.

If it helps any, I have 70k miles now...just want everyone's input before I either piece or purchase.
