Anyone with upgraded pipes: I/C/intake

Alright i will eventually go big turbo with my car possibly T04, thing is should i get an upgraded intake pipe even tough it will be worthless later?, i will be doing the turbo upgrade next year and fo now want to get as much as i can from my 14b. I was wondering if the intake pipe provides a decent power gain, wich one did you get? from where? did you have to modify anything?

Also regarding I/C pipes, if i upgrade my upperlower pipes will they be worthless when i go front mount? do they provide a good gain? where did you get yours?

I've got a dave brode UIP and a greddy LIP. I noticed a big difference when I put them on. I also put on a 1g bov at the same time, so my boost didn't leak any more. My pipes and bov cost me a total of 130 because they were used. I love them. The only thing I might do is get a greddy upper pipe someday with a type-s bov.

Upgrading your intercooler pipes should be at the top of your upgrade list jsut below intake/exhaust. About 90% of FMIC kits run to the stock location, so you don't really have to worry about getting different ones later.

I wouldn't get a new intake pipe until you get your turbo. the stock one should be just fine for you. I'd cut the bov return pipe out of the inside of it though. If you want a little more flow on your intake you can make a custom one for like 10 bucks by cutting the stock intake and replacing the restrictive part with a pipe and a 45* rubber bend... There should be a vfaq on that.
