Turbo Dilemma! (post #1)

I did a lot of researching and i had my mind set solid on a t28 Killer for my a/t GS-T. Now im hearing people saying that this turbo spools up to quick for my car and that i should go with something with a little bit more lag. My question to the a/t dsm community is what turbos are the gs-t(<--mainly) and gsx guys running and how is the traction issue? How do you like it and how does it perform? What psi are you guys running at? Also 1/4 times and dyno #'s would be of great help. Thanks in advance and all input and opinion would be greatly appreciated.

With these mods

Well dude, I can tell you that you don't want a really laggy turbo with an a/t. cause you tranny is going to want to shift at the lowest rpms possible all the time. So a turbo like the t28killer would be good cause they are suposed to be at full boost at 2800-3000 rpm, and hold to redline. this will be good cause when you launch an a/t you can't rev high unless you hold ebrake till launch. So it sounld be a nice turbo for you.:thumb:

Under WOT the car shifts right at 7k in first and in 2nd. Im really looking for a turbo with a lot of high end right now because in most of my races the t25 dies out in high end and other people pull liek crazy when it dies out =( But thanks for the input =) 1 point t28killer 0 point green

maybe a small 16G would be better for topend? They still spool up fast.

i would say a 20G or larger is out of the question though it would just kill your launch with an auto trans.. now if it was a 5 speed thats a WHOLE deferent story.

Personaly if you had the money i would get a 5 speed and then get a
SBR GT-12 or 20G mistu turbo.

u have any idea how hard and tedious it is to swap a m/t into that car?

Don't waste your time w/ the 28 killer, it doesn't have the top end, spools quicker than stock but runs out of steam. I have a big16g on my A/T and it just isn't enough for me anymore. I went w/ a 50 trim ball bearing unit for my next turbo, I should get it in 2 weeks I'll let you know how that turns out. I'd recommend at least a 20g for starters given you have a upgraded tranny, tc, and valve body kit. If you don't have those done stay small. Take a look at the Level 10 PTS kit and Precision Industries TC, makes a world of diff. Good Luck!!
