I am thinking about buying an 90 eclipse gst but it has a alot of miles I want to fix it up what could I do to restore the life back in the car I have 1k to work with ok guys thanks

Uhhhh, that car MIGHT be worth HALF that price. Secondly, a rebuild or motor swap are the only two ways to breath life into the old engine. A rebuild can easily be had for $500 of parts at MachV.com.

unless his motor has about 40,000 miles on it, its NOT worth $5000. car appears to be in really nice condition though. check it out and take it for a drive, see what its like, then make him an offer.

I only paid $3300 for mine, and I have a 92 gsx with the 6/4 combo. So I would either offer him $2500-$3000 or keep looking. And I would also recomend a gsx, you'll be happy in the long run. My brother has a 90 laser fwd that he put a 3" catback, and ic pipes and my near stock awd still smokes him. From a roll he will kill me, but in the 1/4 I take him by 3 or 4 car lengths. And he only paid $2600 for his car.

But that gst does look pretty good, and it already has lots of goodies on it, which can be a good or a bad thing. So depending on the miles, and if you really want a shit load of tire spin and torque steer, then I would make him an offer.
