Edmonton,
I just installed an Autometer boost guage in my car(a 91 TSi FWD) and when I floor it it reads to 11psi of boost then quickly drops to 10psi. The engine is stock except for the free mods(including BCS restrictor removal). I was just wondering if this was normal boost because I've heard that normal boost was around 13psi? Any help appriciated.

Thanks.

thats close enough to be normal. You could always just run a straight vac line from your turbo nipple to your wastegate nipple to see the stock wastegate setting if you really wanted too. But, I wounldnt worry about it, just get a MBC now.

Thanks. Yah, I have a MBC, just have to install it now. I'll be getting a 2.5' downpipe and 2.5' cat-back exhaust soon(with removal of cat, but resignator installed). How much boost will I be able to run after my exhaust? 14-15psi?

your exhaust is not whats limiting your max boost. Its your fuel supply, get injectors and fuel pump and you can boost more. Your 2.5" exhaust will just make your turbo spool faster. However, yes, you can set your boost to 15 psi safely right now.
