Engine rebuild complete, Running great

Well finally after 5 months my car is back running. for the last month i have been saving and buying parts such as pistons(2g), head surfaced, pistons pressed, oil pan, gaskets, and other lose ends, and now finally i got it running.

for the past week i have been doing the install and the last 2 days i was done with the installation just needed to get the timing right, it was a lil confusing seein how my cam gears have to damm marks on each, so i finally got that straightened out, then my tensoiner pulley was not tensioning so i had to take that of again, but finally it started today

after hearing that sound i almost honestly cried, its the best day of my life, all 45 hours i probably put in that car paid off, it cost me about 1100 to get my fried engine back goin again, i bought 500 dollar 2g pistons, aout 200 for them to get pressed, my head surfaced, and gaskets, and a few other pricey things. the one thing that did go wrong today was i was leakin anti freeze out of the thermo housing, and so i was tighint the the housing down and that dam bi*** elbow cracked, thats the 3rd one i have cracked, WTF?,, does anyone know what or where i can get a stronger one? thanks jason,, oh and my car has perfect vac now and very strong compression, im so happy, wow. by the way im 17

if the elbow is repeatedly cracking on your thermo housing, there is a reason for it. Something it not aligned properly in the car puttin pressure on it.

I hope to have mine running again by the end of the week. Mine has been out of commision for a couple months.

Congrats! Sounds like me... i was very happy once I got my rebuild going to. Very satisfing feeling when its all runnign again...

Well on this site they have 2g pistons for in the catalog for 268 i attempted to order them from here and nobody had them, so went to my dealer and got them for 280, then with better rings, forgot the ### name, they were like 120, then i had to get wrist pins. like 50 bucks, so a lil under 500$

i have big 1g rods and the 2g pistons do not press on unless you get the pin hole bored out to 22 mm i believe and the rod narrowed a mm or so, check vfaq for exact figures, just to get them pressed was about 60 bux but then they started screwin me over after they realized they did have to bore and narrow the rods and there was nothing i could do cus they had my parts there and i wanted it done.

And i ampretty sure the thermo housing r just made poorly and too thin, and out of alluminum and i dont know where i can find steel ones.
