So I installed the 20G tonight and all went pretty well. When I went to fire it up, the WG was stuck open a little bit. I have an external dump on an internal gate. Is there anyway that I can adjust the internal WG while it is on the car, or do I have to pull the damn thing again?

Thanks for your help guys
(I wonder if LarryD wants to chime in on this  )

You have an internally dumped turbo, and you are running an external gate at the same time? Wow didnt know you could do that.

Please read post carefully.

I have an INTERNAL WASTEGATE with an EXTERNAL DUMP TUBE. This means that my O2 Sensor housing dumps the WG in order to control creep.

Please dont make this an issue of why i chose to get internally gated...my Q is just does anyone know how to adjust them?

Please chime in if you have info on this adjustment...thanks guys!

No need to get chaffed. candela was asking which type of interal wastegate actuator is on the turbo.

Some are adjustable and some are not.

A pic of your wastegate actuator would help.

Listen ass...you need to relax and think about what I said. I understood WTF you just said, yet you didn't what I read. You can use differnt wastegates on the 20g. Where did you get the actuator/rod... did you customize a 14b/16g one, get a new one, is it adjustable?

Or better yet Brian, maybe we are all just idiots and do not know what your trying to ask us. It will help in helping you if you give us information is all Im saying;)

Sorry guys, I read your tone wrong and I wasnt in a good mood. From now on I will hold the posting until I am my normal cheery self! :thumb:

I only have a few pics of it that were taken from my cell phone. I hope it might help....I couldnt upload the pics right now for some lame reason, so I am linking you to a thread that has pics of it : Click Here

If those arent good enough, I can take more and upload if it will help, just lemme know. Thanks guy, I appreciate it!

Regards,
Brian

I don't know about adjusting the rod itself. I saw a pic of someone else's turbo on here a couple of days ago that had an adjustable rod, I cant tell if yours looks the same. I'll try to find a link.

Another option, I read in Drag Sport magazine you can shim were the waste gate actuator bolts to the turbo. They said to do this to delay when the wastegate opens, I don't know if it will fix your problem or not.

I have an adjustable internal gate. I will get a pic tomorrow.

Thanks for all of your help guys! I got it sealed by simply adding some washers to where the WG bolts to the turbo and it tightened the rod.

Now all I need to do is fix the slight coolant drip and the beast should come to life

Thanks again for your help gentlemen! :p
