i'm just curious, but next weekend i'll be doing the first round of mods to my 1G turbo fwd. i'm installing full 3" exhaust, dejon uicp, water injection, and mbc. I was curious how much boost you guys think i could run before i start knocking or running lean on the stock fuel system? i'll be running 50/50 water/methanol in my water injection. i was thinkin 14-15 psi? i'll try to borrow a datalogger to see when i start knocking and timing gets pulled.

just curious
thanks
chad

Can't run more than 15psi on stock pump/injectors. Once you re-wire the pump, you might be able to get away with 16psi, but don't go any higher until you upgrade the fuel pump.

if i know i'm knocking at high rpm and on a hot day my car is definately slower for a lil over $200 what is better for the money than water injection? i think it is well worth it.

Triple that and just get a FMIC.

Walbro 255 can be had for about $120 new, rewire will cost you about $15 on avg. for the relay, power cable, wire connectors etc. i'd definitely do the re-wire/pump upgrade before water injection.

can the stock fuel regulator handle a 255lph? i was under the impression it couldn't. anyway, i will definately rewire my fuel pump, i got plenty of 8 guage wire laying around.

thanks

No, it can't handle a rewired 255.

I put on my 255lph HP recently (I bought it for $100 with the install kit from a group buy, groupbuycenter.com)

Anyways, non rewired I am at about 40psi base fuel pressure with no adjusments.
You do have a fuel pressure guage, right? If not get one. And if you get a rewire, get an adjustable pressure regulator. (One that goes + and - )

I just looked back and saw you are getting a 3" exhaust.

You will need to port the O2 sensor housing (especially the wastegate part) and also some of the turbo where the wastegate is, so the flapper can open up all the way. If not you will be getting mad boost creep
