Saw this at the junkyard and was wondering if it's worth messing with(new endtanks, resized, etc)?
86 volvo 760 FMIC. Size 18.5 X 16 1/4 X 1.5 Perfect condition. Tube and Fin design. Only $28.00 so no big deal either way.

i was at a junkyard with a friend looking for other parts and decided to look for something with a big intercooler that i could possibly rig up on my 91 gsx then i spotted an intercooler off of a 92 volvo 940 (looks just like the one you saw) but i asked about a price and i was told $250 !!!!!!! well anyways i came home and wanted to see if anyone else had the same idea i had so seached the forums and this is all i have found come on guys i know someone has tried this thing i was going to remove my all my ac components and slap that baby in front of my radiator any thoughts

my friend had one of those intercoolers on his prelude before he sold the turbo, i dont think it flowed to well, it didnt make much power on the prelude
and if any junk yard tells u some outragious price for something, take it off and stick it by a fence somewhere, cut the fence that nite and its urs, alot of times junk yards will try and overcharge u if they know what the part is and what it can be used for, so i perfer to rip them off instead
like this one, 1 used power mirror for a 2g talon from a junk yard, $105, we got the same mirror with less faided paint from another junk yard for 15 bucks

cirus im already one step ahead of you that intercooler is by the fence as we speak. i guess dsm owners think alike LOL:thumb:

Why are DSMer's getting cheap all of a sudden. If you build your DSM the cheap way, it's not gonna give you the performance you probably want. Just bite the bullet and buy a FMIC meant for your car. Also, your dumb if you have a FMIC that is stolen!

dsm'ers have always been cheap. These car are all about bang for the buck!

Volvo FMICs have been used on several DSMs... check out the customers page at Slowboy and look at Clayton Cobb's car (President of The Capital Area DSM.org club) He has a Volvo FMIC that he got off of one of my friends... his car used to be the most ghetto fab DSM I ever saw, but it was fast and never broke down. The fuel pump rewire on his car was done 5 minutes before a race with an LS1 on laughing gas, using speaker wire from another DSMers system (her subs were blown anyway) DSMers are crafty :)
