What is a Rod Knock?

Well i guess i dont fully understand what a Rod Knock is so could someone please explain it to me, some of the symptoms and causes ETC.

From what i know it is when the oil between the Crankshaft Journal and the End cap on the Rod losses the oil between them and they slam together giving you a Knock, Am i on crack or is this right, and are theire other things to cause a knock

sounds aboout right...it's not a good sound, but if you hear it tow it to a shop so maybe you can get away with just replacing the end cap and not a whole short block, when rod rides the crankshaft without a bearing for a long enough time it scores into the crankshaft and destroys your whole bottom end.

Ok thanks for the HELP. So are there any other reasons why Somone could get a knock or is that the only cause?

i think pretty much is just when the bearing spins in the rod cap or lack of oil, to my best understanding.
