1g cams on a 2g ???

I'm with Larry on this one.

If you get the cams for free, or just happen to have the valve cover off and the cam caps popped off for some reason - and the cams come in under say 50 bucks - throw them in there.

A local guy did it, haven't heard word on any improvement though. Best of luck, but seems more like a conditional matter ( motor runs > 1G cam swap ) to me.

Best of Luck,

Well 1G cams are alot better than 2g. A friend of mine had 1G cams on his 96 GSX and ran an 11.88 with a 20G. If your on a budget and can't afford the HKS then i would definitely go with the 1G cams. They are easy to install and you will see performance gain.

Well, I hope they are worth it. I just put a 14b and 1g cams in my 2g. The head was already off the car(timing belt went) and a buddy had an extra set, so I said "why not".

FREE= GOOD!!

1G cams are better but the improvement is so minimal that it not worth the 3 hours to me to install the dumb thing. I agree what people are saying. If it's free and you happen to be doing a timing belt.
