all i have is cold air and i want to know what brand to get and where i can find it for cheap. I know that i'm gonna go with a 3" exaust but what do you suggest for good sound and performanceand under $400.
Thanks.

Buy this muffler cause I like it...http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/ss02.htm

Then take it to a trusted exhaust shop and have them make you 3" mandrel bent piping setup for it then bolt it on... total costr should be more than 400$ for a turbo back... Of course youll need flanges and time for them to do it. Make sure you watch there plans for it to make sure it doesnt hang to low. Ive seen custom exhausts hang very low to the ground;)

I have the N1 full exhaust system and its not really loud at all. Just a loud hum. Nice sound, but not for under 400.

This is such a general description that it makes me want to cry. Why don't you tell us what your goals are for the car before you decide what size piping you need. Plenty of people only want a 3" because it sounds impressive when talking to ricers, but they'll never use it all because they won't get into the 11s in the first place and you can't just bolt 3" pipe up to the stock components. Next, do you have to pass any type of emissions test where you live because if so, you have to run a cat. at least for the test and that's and extra $50 at least for a high flow. Get a decent sized flex section if you are going to replace the DP, but I doubt you are going to be able to do that for under $400 for everything. One guy on here ordered all the flanges from RRE to make his own exhaust and it ended up being around $120 and that didn't include the muffler, the bending of the pipe, or any mounting cost at all.

He will be going for the 300hp combo. No emissions here in oregon. I think he was talking about just the catback for under $400. The downpipe will be seperate. Will a 3" downpipe bolt up to the stock turbo manifold?

Yeah, the only problem I ran into with AHP was their lack of communication. I tried calling them for a week straight to order an exhaust and never got anyone or had any of my emails returned. Plus I've heard horror stories about extremely long waits to get an order. I hope they've changed things since then because I've also heard they were a good bargain.

You may want to look into RnR Racing. Their cat-back starts at 270 in aluminized and 370 in stainless.
