well my boy with his galant VR4 came back from the track today very ticked off. he came back with a 12.6 @ 114 best time at the track. thats horrible considering he was on 110 race gas boosting over 25 psi on a heavily modified motor. he claimed that it was poor driving on his part and poor tuning on his part also. said his egts barely hit 820. even so that is horrible times for the mods he has. i know a guy who ran 11.9 on a 20g with half the mods that the galant had. ooo well. all in all i dont think the fp30 is all that and a bag of nuts just my opinion.

He explaind that it was poorly tuned, and his driving was also poor. would this not expalin why he only ran a 12.6?

mods do not= HP mods + tuning on a healthy well prepped motor=HP/performance. As you stated above his tuning was not up to par. this is not even your car and you are posting your opinion of a turbo you dont have and a car you dont own:rolleyes: this thread is going to be great, i can already tell

Ok, more like your buddies driving/tuning is not all it's cracked up to be. Maybe you haven't seen Dan Cokic's 10.6 second street talon. Give the car to someone who can drive and see what times they pull off then.

What 10.6 street Talon are you talking about? If I remember right Dan ran low 11's with FP3065 and 10.9 with a Frank 5.

What times is a FP3055 suppose to run when it's properly tuned and driven?

You crack me up. Yeah, its all the Turbo's fault. LOL My friend went 12.0@115 on pump gas (spiking to 22lbs) of boost and he was really rich. He has an FP30 also.

I was there at the race, his driving wasn't too poor as i witnessed it. Im not too sure on my opinion about the fp30, because going for rides in it (launching, freeways, etc.) it pulls like a mofo. I guess we'll have to see once he builds his bottom end. -Terren

Hey bi***!! I wasn't very pissed of about my time. It was my first time ever down the 1/4 mi w/ my Galant. It was my second time ever racing in the 1/4 mi ever!! I know I need practice. My car has a completely STOCK motor, beside the cams. No built head or built bottom end. I ran 1.7 bar which is about 24 to 25psi. It wasn't over 25psi, which means that I wasn't in the main power band of the turbo. Remember, the FP30's are better when used over 26psi!! Yeah the guy who ran 11.999 on a 20g had alsmost the same set up I do besides the magnus intake. The run only trapped about 3 mph faster than mine. My car is 300lbs heavier than that 90 Eclipse, he did lots of wieght reduction. He also has a TONS more of experience than I do. My car was't tuned at all, hitting 820 egt's ISN'T maximum potential. Your just jealous that I have a running car for the last 8 months or so. Good luck geting your car finished!! By the way, my mph (115ish) is good for high 11's once I get some more practice. Even if you pay some one to put your car together, because you can't even do the timing belt assembly together w/ the motor OUT of your car, you have to brib someone to do it. Better start selling more games tso you have the cash to pay someone to do everything. If you do get it running it won't be tuned unless you PAY someone to do it for you. If you pay someone to do that, you WILL blow it up!! HHAHA....SUCKS TO BE YOU!!!:D

Oh yeah, you don't live in Temecula!! It's Mira Mesa yo

alright brandon when my car is done in spring break ill break in the engine dump in some 110 set my boost to 25 psi and see how my agp turbo and driving and my shitty ass blowing up motors tuning compares to your runs. and galants are only 100 heavier than normal eclipses. but then again you have no wieght reduction and i have plenty but ill give you .6 of a second.

Before saying that the Galant only weighs 100lbs more, take both cars to a track scale and weigh them. It's a bit more than 100lbs.

Yeah,a little more that 100lbs,bro.

Not to mention the aerodynamics of a barn...

Manny you have no right to bash an FP 30, are you just out to prove your idiocy or perhaps your out too look like an idiot? Brandons car was not fine tuned. My car traps high because I have experiance tuning and drive around doing that occasionally. Don't compare a car owned by someone for 3 months and never track tested to a car with 100 passes and a year in the making.

Dont make claims about a product unless you have proof that the product itself sucks. My first trip to the track last year with my new setup netted me an 12.3X of a best. By the end of the season I had tuned and driven a full second off the time. 12.5 at 115 is a good time first trip out. With some more practice, he should be in the 11s in no time.

Please don't start a thread only to give irrelevant opinions of a product, especially a turbo, based on a car you saw at a track with that product installed. How is this helpful to others? It's completely unfair and not worth starting a discussion about in a performance forum. If you want to start a thread about a product in which you want to review or give an opinion on, next time, make sure it's one that you own and have tested yourself - especially in this particular forum.
