the restrictor on the boost control solenoid on 2 g cars. if u take that off it says u can gain an extra 2-3 psi of boost. i did that today just wanna make sure i did it right. the lower tube that connects to the boost control solenoid is the one u wanna unplug or is there something inside u wanna remove? im confused on the whole thing. someone please clear this up for me. thanks

In the lower nipple of the bcs there is a little plastic piece that makes the passage way smaller. You'll easily be able to tell that the piece is in there. Pull it out.

ya, a lil black piece, use something skinny, push it in, and pull out.. and it should just pop right out...

Hey, this is something else you might want to do as well. I replaced my vacuum hoses today, and when I replaced the Wastegate hose that is t-connected into that same hose, I noticed that the the hose to the Wastegate had a pinhole restriction in it too! I replaced it with a silicon hose, and drove the car to make sure it drove fine (considering no one else seems to have mentioned removing this restrictor, so I figured there may be a reason it was there). Car drove great. Don't have a boost guage yet (Apexi guage in the mail), but the car did seem to drive better. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

With the factory BCS, the restriction in the hose coming off the turbo compressor going to the wastegate actuator should actually limit wastegate pressure and hence let the wastegate open later at higher pressures. Removing this restrictor hose will actually cut boost. Instead, I used bigger diameter (7/32") vacuum hose coming off the T going to the BCS. This cheap mod seems to bleed more pressure from the wastegate actuator and boosts pressure quite a bit. I now spike to 22 PSI at WOT, then the pressure settles to 15.5-16 PSI. I'm actually going to install a MBC for more accurate control and to eliminate the spiking.

we did the boost restrictor mod on my buds talon and he hit 15 psi on my backroads afterwards...................so it aparently does something cause he didnt loose boost but gained that extra 2-3 psi like it said u would in the SCC issue............how to tune ur 4g63

word my car came with the same mod. sometimes it will spike but i noticed that was only it first gear. my turbo seems to spool at about 2.5 and it gets up to full boost pretty fast. im not sure about how much faster then not having it done because i never drove the car w/o it done. but i dont think u loose boost from the mod.
