I had to replace the coolant line that runs behind the turbo. Since I had to remove the turbo and half the crap around it I decided to upgrade a couple parts.

Here is the problem: The entire front of the engine is laying on the ground. I need to remove the injectors. There is no way I can run the engine to purge the line of fuel pressure. I took a look and I couldn't find a shrader valve. How can I depressurize the line!!

FYI upgrades are as follows:

16G
RNR 3" turbo back (SS O2 elim, cat, bulley muffler, SS tip)
RC 550 injectors
Walbro 190 FP
Apexi AFC 2 LE
Dejon Tool UICP
Greddy BOV

Did I forget anything in terms of supporting mods?

What you should have done was unplug fuel pump first and crank it over few times.

Since it's too late, open gas tank cap to relieve some pressure, then get a rag, take fuel rail off, take one of the injectors off and let fuel drip into a rag.

Yeah, I know what I SHOULD have done, but I wasn't planing on taking this much off the engine just for a stupid coolant line.

Ah yes, the top 3 things I loath being covered in:

Brake fluid
Gasoline
Fuel

Gear oil is up there too. Especially old school gear oil. They actually used to use whale sperm! :barf:

I will probably crack the line a little. Is there such a thing as a shrader valve in DSM's?

i just changed injectors yesterday, and i completely forgot to disconnect the fuel pump. the car had been sitting since the night before and i had a rag, it didn't poor enough out to even soak a rag. parts of the rag where still dry. just grip a injector with a rag and pull it out, and everything should be good.

Here is my assinine answer that would work. Buy a DSMlink and turn on your fuel pump manually :)

Or hell now that I said that another idea pops in my head. Have you rewired your fuel pump?? Wire it up and turn it on with a power right to the 12V constant and switchable and let the pump run for 15 seconds or so.

why even bother with that? Just unscrew the two bolts holding on the feedline and put a rag over the end and pull it out with your hand, it will release maybe an ounce or 2 of fuel at the most it's not really that big a deal. I just did that lastnight on my car...

thats what i did:thumb:

No test port on 1G's.

Larryd, running the fuel pump with DSMLink would be the opposite of what he would want to do. He is trying to relieve fuel pressure. My dies overnight anyway. But, if I just pull it in and need to work on it, I leave the car running in the garage, pop the trunk and unclip the connector. The car runs for a few seconds then sputters and dies. Crank it over once to be sure and you now have zero fuel pressure.

I installed the injectors tonight. What a pain in the ass that was!

There was no fuel pressure when I took the rail apart. I did screw up thogh, I dropped a bolt somewhere in the block. :(

Same for me as well.

yep, make sure the cat is not sitting on your valve cover, and crak it loose baybe :)

it won't really get much spewage. Its under pressure for sure, but there is no flow to speak of because the pump is off.
