Ok in about a half hr my friend is gona bring his raged out 90 tsi talon over.. Im thinking about buying it over the other one..

and cause he ran it without oil for a ooo probly 1-2 days (i think just one) im kinda skiddish about trying to build that engine (since it has 175,000 miles on it) but hey i figure if he has good compression the cyl walls should be fine right?

well i dont have any idea what the compresion should be up to though for a stock 90 ??

140lb? 160?

well he didn't notice...

that was back when his turbo was drinking oil a qt per mile.. but he replaced the seals and it's not doing that anymore..

any way i need to know how the cyl's should be at?

140+ is good, 120 - 140 is ok.
variation between cyinders of more than 15psi is bad.

Its really not that great my man. If its a 1G you talking about then its still in spec and is OK but if its a 2G it really is tired...

unless he's at altitude which would mean the readings are great. im at 4500 ft and my 140000 mile car is 130 across the board. it would be over 140 at sea level:)

DAMN IT!!!! that means i gota tear the ####ing engine down and replace rings hopefully when he ran it without oil didn't #### up the cyl walls..

errrr...

although it could have just been the gague i was useing cause it was kinda short.. couldn't realy get a good seal over the plug hole.. (gague was to ####ing short) so my dads gona get one from work.. and were gona recheck it.. god i hope it's just that gague..

and i was hopeing to have that clutch in by the end of this month.. if i have to tear the engine down and replace rings and or pistons it will be probly mid April before i will have it back up and runing.. (doing the work myself with my old mans help.. )

Sure you guys didn't see the 2G's compression? (plz tell me thats it) cause i thougt one guys 9.0:1 compression pistons on here got him like 190-192 across.. so would 8.5:1 get around 165 and then 7.5 or 7.8 not sure about the stock 1G be 140 or so.. ??

er SOB i was planing on rebuilding the engine but not this freaking soon! i wanted to drive it a while before i did..

Well the service limit is 120psi... like I said its not good by any means but its ok and youll still be able to make power on it if you dont have the money for a rebuild...

I have 9:1 and I got 180psi across the board as of now(still got some breaking in to do too;) )

2G-8.5:1
1G-7.8:1
:dsm:

You'll be fine... my car got these results (though i didn't have the car at WOT)

1 - 130
2 - 135
3 - 105
4 - 133

And it's ran fine for a while... even clicked off a [email protected] (holding it in 3rd through the traps) and a [email protected] (bogging the launch) Both runs were at 12-13psi, with the mods listed in my sig, plus a 3" ATR o2 Eliminator Downpipe (sold) :)

er so it is 164...

hmm well i guess it's not so bad then.. LOL maybe keep the knock down on low octane fuel LOL!....hmm gona have to rebuild it in a 5-6 months.. LOL i'll just get some 8.5:1 pistons new rings and pay my old man to do it LOL.. he can do it alot quicker than i can...
