Should I have any fuel problems?

Ok I was thinking about upgrading my stock turbo to a 20G... since it's only $580 (cheaper than a big 16G and more power) but that will be latter on...

for the moment (since im quiting my job i have $$$ problems  ) so i am just going to do the free mods add a K & N air filter and maybe $500 worth of mods

now what i was wondering if i make a boost controler and have it around 16PSI i know thats about as far as you can go with the stock fuel system.. what i was wondering though if i used a high pressure pump would that cause the stock injectors to spray more fuel? and if so could there be any negitive effects?

I think that in general, anything as strong or stronger than a Walbro 255 high-pressure (give or take, depends on the car) needs an aftermarket fuel-pressure regulator. If you don't get one, the stock regulator can't bring down the pressure enough, and yes you will spray too much fuel, but only at idle, and cruising around, ruining your fuel mileage, idle, and O2 sensor.

o...hmm well thx guess i should just sink a few $$ and buy some larger injetors...

would 550cc's be able to provide enough fuel to a 20G? and if i got them and installed them before i converted the turbo to a 20G would there be any problem.. there shouldn't be should there since it would spray more fuel for the given amount of time the computer should shut them sooner and it be all fine shouldn't it? or will the computer not know how much fuel it is spraying and just go by the 450's spraying about 100cc's to much (makeing it way rich)

in short im just asking will i need something like a Apex AFC to tune it after i install the injectors or will it be fine without it:confused:

Pretty much answered your own question. The most commonly recommened size for the 20G are 660 if it's just daily driven and 720 for all out race. It's a give and take between daily drivability (ex. idling) or tuning window. I've also learned via observation that most people running 720 are tending to use higher up fuel tuning devices such as DSM link, VPC/AFC combo, stand alone (Haltech, AEM Greddy). 550 will allow your car to go, but u wont be able to achieve the potential of a 20G, thus its a waste till u bump up. Regardless of what ever size injectors. U will require fuel pump and tuning device of some sorts. Possible even a FPR.

thx i was not sure so i asked..

hmm well crap.. now im wondering how much i can do to the car with only $500-800 i want at least 14 sec 1/4

BTW this car will take a 734mile trip to PA soon.. how reliable are they? mine only has 85,000 miles and is completely stock.. (just wondering cause a friend said they were not very reliable but i think thats just his openion)

Send your first $500-800 on down pipe, highflow cat/race pipe, and a catback exhaust. And for your application, go with 3" exhaust. Turbo's are exhuast driven, so the first thing you want to do is get a high flow exhaust. You will probobaly have to get a Front Mount Intercooler also if you end up purchasing a 20G turbo. So don't forget about that little $1,000 accessory. Just some things to think about. You may also want to look in to converting over to a 2G Mass airflow sensor. Just some advice.
